Immigration

"[Catch an Illegal Immigrant Day] is a game that the U.S. government needs to play about 13 million times."

"The only thing more effective would be if U of M YAF and MSU YAF were to drive down to the border and start building the wall ourselves, but that would be a lot of work."

“We need a president that will put our national interests first. The person who will take our soldiers out of the Middle East and put them on the U.S.-Mexican border will receive my vote in the next election.”

"If I were an American and went somewhere else, I wouldn't demand they adapt to my culture.  My ancestors came here legally and abandoned their own cultures and learned the English language."

"Both parties are afraid to deal with the illegal immigration issues.  [Tom Tancredo] exhibits strong leadership skills and he's willing to say what needs to be said. He really wants to observe American culture."

"We're committing cultural suicide if we don't address [illegal immigration]. We need to establish a national language because it defends our culture."

"Amnesty doesn't fix the problem at all.”

Abortion

“Since the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, about 46,023,191 babies have been aborted in the United States. Another way to look at this casualty number is that it is more than eight times the number of Jews that the Nazis killed in World War II. I was always told that the United States was a country where life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are supposedly valued. I guess this hasn't been the case since 1973.”

“It might be a woman's body in which the baby develops. However, it is a separate entity than the mother. The baby has different genes, a different blood type and in half the cases, it's not even the same gender as the mother. The issue being discussed is how we should respond to the fact that as of right now, a person has control over the fate of another.”

“Since abortion is legal, it sends the wrong message that the government approves of the horrid taking of innocent life. This deceives women into thinking that since it is legal, it must be acceptable. Slavery was approved of by our government at one time. Was that right?”

Politics

“You cannot take our hearts, you cannot take our tongues, and you cannot take our freedom!”

"As for the public opposition to things he and MSU YAF have done, he's OK with that.  'There are people who support illegal immigration. There are people who really don't like our country, our country's history, Western culture. There are people who don't like morality,' Bristow said, 'And I hope I'm not liked by those people.' "

“The harder they push, the harder we push back.  It boils down to the more active they are, the more active we are. We go after anyone that targets capitalism.”

"So many people, they care nothing more than who's dating who or where they're going to drink on a given night or where they're going to party.  There's a lot more going on the world, even domestically, that should raise some concerns. Now is the time we can make a difference."

"Conservatives will lose if we're going to nominate liberals."

''We're here to be educated, to get our degrees.  They're here to provide an atmosphere where we can be educated. We should be able to think for ourselves and not have people like Lou Anna Simon thinking for us.''

“It is unfortunate that the liberals have to resort to lies, deceit and sometimes violence instead of contributing to political discourse in more mature ways.”

“I am not a very liberal person.”

“I am a staunch Republican and have been all my life.”

"Mitt Romney — I believe to be a fraud, a sham, a flip-flopper and a con, and it would be a travesty if he were to get the Republican nomination for president."

"In Michigan, our economy is bad, we have terrorists overseas who want to kill us, we have a massive deficit — we can't have an indecisive leader."

“It's sad we need police to come to control these radical leftists."

"There is a lot of hatred against us on their part."

Affirmative Action

"Preferential affirmative action patronizes American blacks, women and others by presuming they can't succeed on their own."

"Preferably, we'd have no race-based groups on student government because politics transcends race."

"If it was wrong to tell people they can't sit at a lunch counter because of their race, it is equally wrong to tell people they can't sit in a desk in a classroom because of their race."

"Martin Luther King Jr. advocated for true equality.  He didn't want people to be judged by the color of their skin.  If he didn't, then I guess he wasn't the man the civil rights people believe him to be.”

"If you look into our history, there was a time when people were put into slavery because of their skin color.  There was a time when people weren't allowed to vote because of their skin color; and now, there are people who are put into positions that they are not qualified for, or are being denied positions that they do deserve, based on their race. It's time for our country to move on."

"We feel that it is important to show that all of MSU does not support the racist affirmative action."

"It's a sad day with our country and colleges and jobs when skin color is taken into consideration.  We should be more mature than we are now. The more qualified person should get the job, should get into college."

"It really isn't equal opportunity when you look at a person's skin color for employment."

"Admitting less-qualified applicants is unfair to the person denied because of race and the person accepted because of race."
